Annual Benefits Fair and Enrollment Information
The 2008 Annual Benefits Enrollment period will be July 1-31, 2008. The Office of Human Resources will hold a Benefits Fair on Thursday, July 10th in the Parman Auditorium & Foyer. Please see the flyer for details at http://www.uthscsa.edu/hr/benefitsfair2008.pdf.
We will have a very special speaker from the University of Texas System Office of Employee Benefits. Mr. Rolando Roman M.Ed., Worksite Health & Wellness will present valuable information in his presentation entitled, “The Importance of Nutrition, Exercise and Your Health.”
GOOD NEWS!! No Changes in Benefits Plans or Rates
There will be no changes to the plan design or copayment structure for the medical plan and prescription drug program under UT Select. Also, the benefit plan design and rates for optional benefits: UT Select Dental, Assurant Dental DMO, Superior Vision, Group Term Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Short Term and Long Term Disability, and Long Term Care will remain the same for plan year 2008-2009.

IMPORTANT!! UT Benefits Enrollment Options
Any changes you make to your benefits will go into effect September 1, 2008. Please read all information you receive from UT System very carefully.
You may have already received or soon will be receiving your U.T. Touch Coverage Option Letter which will provide you with your Personalized Identification Number (PIN) along with details regarding your current coverage, available coverage, and resources to learn more about the plans. The Coverage Option Letter will arrive in your email inbox (with the subject line: Your U.T. Benefits Enrollment Options) or by letter to your home address if you do not have email. During annual enrollment, subscribers will be able to use their four digit PIN to log onto U.T. Touch and make their selections for the new plan year.
Annual Enrollment Reminders
- Evidence of Insurability (EOI) – is the record of a person’s past and current health history. EOI is used by insurance companies to verify whether a person meets the definition of good health. During Annual Enrollment (July 1 – July 31), if you make an insurance election on U.T. Touch that requires EOI, you will be prompted to complete the insurance company’s EOI form via an online link.
- UT Flex – Don’t forget you must make your UT Flex elections (for both Medical and Dependent Day Care) for Plan Year 2008-2009 during this Annual Enrollment, even if you are currently enrolled in one of the UT Flex elections. Your election(s) in this current plan year will not automatically carry forward to the next plan year.
- PayFlex Debit Card can be obtained at an annual cost of $9 to expedite reimbursements for the Medical Flexible Spending Account. This election must be made each year during Annual Enrollment.
