Dr. John D. Jones received his D.D.S. from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1978 followed by a general practice residency and a prosthodontic residency completed in 1981. He completed both at the Veterans Administration in Leavenworth, Kansas. In addition, he completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine in 1993 at UT Health San Antonio and the Audie Murphy Veterans Administration Medical Center at San Antonio. Dr. is currently professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry.
He is past president of the American Prosthodontic Society, a fellow in the American College of Dentists, a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, Honorary Dental Fraternity, a former executive council member for American Prosthodontic Society, and a member of the Southwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry.
He is past chairman of the Removable Prosthodontic Section of the American Dental Education Association and past president of the South Texas Section of the American College of Prosthodontists.
Dr. Jones is active in several other professional organizations at a local, state and national level. He has more than 90 chapter articles and abstracts in the dental literature and has lectured nationally and internationally. He maintains a part-time prosthodontic practice.
