The area of expertise for Karin Barnes, Ph.D., is in occupational therapy for school-aged children with developmental disabilities and in public school settings. Her research areas are children with mental health difficulties, sensory integration disorders, pediatric hand skill development, pediatric burns and other developmental disabilites as well as public school team collaboration. Her teaching responsibilities include Occupational Therapy Process for School-aged Children, Service Delivery Practices in Public School Settings and Community Settings Courses.
She graduated from University of Kansas with a bachelor of science degree in Occupational Therapy and a master of science degree in Special Education for Severely, Multiple Handicapped. Her Ph.D. is from University of Texas at Austin in Special Education.
