ACET is governed by a Steering Council with the following characteristics:

1. Composition
 
  • One faculty representative from each of the five schools as elected by the corresponding faculty assembly for two or three year, staggered terms. One alternate faculty representative from each of the five schools, elected by the corresponding faculty assembly, will participate in meetings in the absence of the faculty representative, with the same rights and responsibilities as the faculty representative.
     
  • One faculty representative from each of the five schools as chosen by the Dean of each school for two or three year, staggered terms.
     
  • One representative from each of the major university components (Information Management and Services; Library; Student Services) currently supporting teaching activities. The representative will be chosen by the directors of these components to serve two or three year, staggered terms.
     
  • The ACET Director as an ex-officio member
     
  • The chair of the Council will be elected by members of the Council.
     
2. Functions
 
  • Participate in strategic planning, prioritizing activities, and assessing needs including staffing.
     
  • Review recommendations for awarding innovative teaching grants.
     
  • Seek external funding sources.
  • Evaluate the ACET with respect to mission, functions, and activities.
     
  • Gather representative student input
     
3. Organizational Interactions:
 
  • interact directly with the Director of the ACET in accomplishing the functions of the Council and the ACET.
     
  • report to the Vice President for Academic Administration.
