The Professional Development Team of ERD provides consultation and training
services to help
faculty enhance classroom, laboratory and clinic teaching.
Services and Activities
UTHSCSA Teaching Excellence Course (UTEC): ERD
conducts an annual
semester-long professional development course that assists faculty in their
efforts to refine skills in educational planning, instructional methods and
student evaluation. See the UTEC page for further

Custom-designed workshops: ERD conducts workshops on specific
topics for UTHSCSA schools & departments. Click on Additional
Workshops Provided by ERD for a list of topics.
Mentoring & consultation: ERD staff work individually with faculty to
guide
development of skills in teaching, evaluation and curriculum management skills.
Teaching observation & feedback in the VISIT
Program: ERD staff are available to observe teaching
in classroom, lab or clinical settings and provide feedback to enhance
effectiveness.
