Test Scoring and Survey Administration
The Test Scoring and Survey Team provides faculty with scoring & analysis of examinations with multiple-choice or extended matching questions, design & scoring of course evaluations in both paper & electronic formats, transcription of written student comments on course evaluations, design of paper & electronic surveys, and data entry for educational research projects.
ERD staff to contact: . . . Services and activities: Computer Test Scoring: Examinations completed by students on optically scanned "bubble sheets" are scored within one business day. Test Analysis: A report is developed for each test that includes: 1) number & percentage of items correct for each student, 2) number & percentage of items correct by student name, test number, exam number & form, 3) statistical analysis for each question, 4) overall test reliability statistics, 5) subtest analysis, and 6) distribution of students' scores in graphic form. Grade book: Course directors can transfer student scores on tests to an electronic grade book maintained by the Testing Center. A report is generated that averages individual student scores with weights and rank orders students. Survey Design: ERD staff can help faculty create customized questionnaires that can be administered by the Web or optical scan sheets. Data Entry: Data entry with Excel or Access is available to faculty engaged in educational research in collaboration with ERD staff.
