UTHSCSA Teaching Excellence Course (UTEC)

This multi-session professional development program is a long-standing tradition at UTHSCSA.  More than 700 faculty from all schools on campus have completed UTEC since its inception in 1976.

Schedule: UTEC is typically conducted one evening per week from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Format: UTEC is conducted in workshop format to encourage exchange of perspectives about educational issues, allow participants to practice several types of teaching and acquire experience with important teacher tasks such as evaluating student performance, presenting lectures, planning courses, intervening with students who are challenging (difficult), and developing web-based educational activities. Enrollment: Due to the workshop format, hands-on learning and practice teaching opportunities, UTEC enrollment is limited to approximately 30 participants. Registrations are accepted on a first submitted-first enrolled basis.
