Service agreements are available for those departments or investigators
who desire to allocate funds for budgetary purposes. The following is a
description of the current types of agreements that the department of
Instrumentation Service offers:
- Service agreements are available for those departments or
investigators who desire to allocate funds for budgetary purposes. There
are three general types of agreements.
- Preventive Maintenance - This agreement provides for electrical
safety
testing, and for the manufacturer's recommended schedule of Preventive
Maintenance (PM). The PM attempts to keep equipment in excellent
operating condition, by systematic inspection, detection and prevention
of incipient failure. PM may also include cleaning, lubricating,
calibrating, and adjusting the equipment. The frequency of the PM
schedule is determined by the recommended manufacturer's time period.
- CAPs - For those Labs requiring College of American Pathologists
(CAPs) certification. This is essentially a PM agreement. The difference
between the two is that the CAPs standards determine the equipment type,
frequency and duration of the electrical safety assurance testing
requirements for the equipment covered.
- Custom - This is specifically written according to the customer's
needs (e.g., grant stipulations). Differing project requirements will
affect the formula for price setting (e.g., immediate response to
trouble calls).
