Audiovisual Services - Explanation of Charges

There are four levels of charges to the clients of Audiovisual Services:

In-house (State subsidized - on campus)
Off campus (State affiliated)
Continuing Education (State-affiliated)
Cost Recovery (non affiliated, full cost)

In house rates apply to services; equipment and material offered to health Science Center departments. Most are provided free of charge. Exceptions include:

Requirement for a projectionist
Overtime work
Setup, operation of off campus equipment (excludes campus satellites, i.e., McDermott Building, Hayden Head (IBT) Building, University Plaza, and the Allied Health Building)
Expendable items, i.e., Slide trays, AV tapes, lamps, etc.
Expensive, hard to replace equipment, such as video projectors, LCD projectors, LCD panels, Camcorders, PZM Microphones, etc.

Clients include faculty, and all departments within the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Off campus and Cost Recovery clients include other State agencies, faculty engaged in professionally related activities, affiliated biomedical organizations, other government agencies, sponsoring corporations, privately funded research projects and other outside organizations approved by administration.
