Training Programs

 

All Practice Plan providers, residents and UT Medicine personnel involved in preparing, documenting or submitting requests for reimbursement to Federal health care programs are required to take clinical documentation and coding trainings. Other trainings may be required based on a provider's specialty as required by their Department Chair.

The content of these modules are educational only, and are designed to address the University's specific documentation requirements according to the current interpretation of existing Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations. Also, these modules are informational only and not intended as legal advice.

Basic E/M Outpatient and Inpatient Coding Sessions

Individual coding sessions will be provided as requested from departments and individual providers.

Basic Evaluation and Management (E/M) Coding Provider Training New Practice Plan providers involved in the coding of patient services. Within 30 days of employment. Contact Compliance Office to schedule live training.
Consultation Services Individual departments determine who is required to take this training; 30 minutes. .
Medicare's Incident-to Service Rule Individual departments determine who is required to take this training; 25 minutes. .
Primary Care Exception Rule Individual departments determine who is required to take this training; 15 minutes. .
Modifier Usage Individual departments determine who is required to take this training; 25 minutes. .
1995 Evaluation and Management Guidelines Individual departments determine who is required to take this training; 35 minutes. .
1997 Evaluation and Management Guidelines Individual departments determine who is required to take this training; 35 minutes. .
Emergency Medicine Individual departments determine who is required to take this training; 15 minutes. .
