PeopleSoft is the administrative software used for major administrative computing systems by the Health Science Center. This software will help achieve organizational goals by improving service levels. PeopleSoft interacts with the Health Science Center community -- students can access their records and registrations, and faculty and staff can connect with the Human Resources, Financials, and Student systems. This system is part of a project called CACTUS, Centralized Administrative Computerized Technology for the University System.

Resources for Help

The University has over 3,000 individuals involved in the purchasing of goods and services. This large number of users will make it difficult at times to receive assistance from DCATS. Before calling DCATS we ask you utilize the following resources first:

1. Ask a fellow co-worker or your departmental ACE for assistance.

2. Contact DCATS by calling #7-0180 to reserve time in a lab. You must have already attended one of the Web Requisition classes.

3. Go to The Knowledge Centre website to register for a Web Requisition class.

DCATS, a part of the Information Management - Client Support Services Department, offers a 3-hour class teaching the user how to prepare a Basic Web Requisition class to purchase goods or services from an outside vendor, prepare a Travel Requisition for a traveler or prepare a General Stores Requisition to purchase goods from the General Stores on campus using the PeopleSoft Web Requisition System. Each of the requisitions are taught in a separate class. Please visit The Knowledge Centre, and enroll in one of the following courses:

• DCATS General Stores Web Requisition

• DCATS Travel Services-Pre Travel Class (To attend the DCATS Travel Services class, you must have already attended the DCATS Basic Web Requisition class

The departmental ACE will be required to complete a P.S.A.R. form to request access for the new user after training is complete. Training is not mandatory prior to receiving access, but it is strongly recommended.

The actual time it takes to complete the class varies depending on the number of participants, questions, and familiarity of participants with computers and the system.
