Dr. Thong Timothy Nguyen grew up in Austin, TX, and completed his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016. After working briefly at Deloitte, he decided to pursue dental school after observing a maxillary down fracture. During his time as a dental student, Dr. Nguyen achieved several accomplishments, including being elected as the president of San Antonio’s American Student Dental Association, being inducted into OKU, and receiving the Navy Health Sciences Collegiate Program award. He also served as a NIH Summer Scholar and worked in the National Institute of Craniofacial Anomalies and Regeneration lab in 2018.

In dental school, Dr. Nguyen was recognized with several awards, including the Vick Williams Scholarship for the highest score in Head and Neck Anatomy & Physiology, third place in the 2019 UTHSCSA Dental Science Symposium, and The Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Most Distinguished Senior Student Award.

Dr. Nguyen completed his categorical intern year, medicine, anesthesia, and general surgery rotations at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center from 2022-2023. He is now set to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training in San Antonio in 2025.

In his free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys hosting dinner parties, playing pickleball, and cheering on Longhorn sports.
