The 17th Annual San Antonio Express-News Book & Author Luncheon
The 17th Annual San Antonio Express-News Book & Author Luncheon will be held at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel, located at 101 Bowie Street in downtown San Antonio, on Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Book sales begin at 10:00 a.m. The Book & Author Luncheon benefits the CTRC at The UT Health Science Center Phase I Clinical Research Program. Six prominent authors will discuss and autograph their latest released books. The featured books will be available for purchase at the luncheon. Tickets are $80 per person or $800 for a table of 10. The 15th Annual Vulcan Materials Funshoot
The 15th Annual Vulcan Materials Funshoot benefiting the CTRC at The UT Health Science Center will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the National Shooting Complex, located at 5931 Roft Road. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. with two rotations beginning at 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. respectively. Approximately 70 teams of five each compete in this sporting-clay shooting competition and fundraiser. Outstanding live auction and silent auction prizes are always a crowd pleaser! Second annual gala In Celebration of the School of Medicine’s 40th Anniversary
On September 20, 2008, the UT Health Science Center will host its Second Annual Gala, at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio in celebration of the School of Medicine’s 40th Anniversary. The opening of the School of Medicine, in 1968, launched a new era for the city of San Antonio, the region and the state.
The Gala’s goal is to raise $500,000 for a cause of great importance to the citizens of South Texas and the world - Women’s Health. By improving the health of women, we will have a far-reaching impact on the health of our community and generations to come.
