Gifts of appreciated securities and closely held stock can be extremely beneficial—both to you and to The UT Health Science Center. You may receive an income-tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities, as well as reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes. Gifts of stock and mutual funds are coordinated by the UT System Office of Development and Gift Planning Services. Proceeds from the sale of these assets are directed to any program you wish.

Planned gifts offer you a unique opportunity to leave a legacy to the UT Health Science Center through your estate plans. Payroll Deductions for HSC Employees
Faculty and staff of The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio may chose to give through installments automatically applied through payroll deduction. Please complete the Payroll Deduction Form and send it to the Office of Development MSC 7835. A pledge is an agreement to give a gift to the UTHSCSA over a period of time with scheduled payments by credit card, or payroll deduction (payroll deduction available for UTHSCSA employees only). Specialized equipment. A personal collection of one-of-a-kind maps or treasured medical textbooks. All of these items, when given to the University as gifts-in-kind, have value not only to the donor but to the department or program that receives them. By definition, gifts-in-kind are non-cash gifts - tangible personal property - that can be put to immediate use by UT Health Science Center San Antonio or immediately converted to cash.
