- A letter or memo is to be sent to the EEO/AA Office advising of the Postdoctoral vacancy or vacancies including notification that the position(s) will not have a faculty title. Advertisement must be submitted for approval if one is to be utilized as a recruitment source.
The EEO/AA Office does not pay for Postdoctoral ads but must approve them before they are placed and they must include the tag lines. "All Postdoctoral appointments are designated as security sensitive positions" and "The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer." In addition the statement must be a separate sentence in the advertisement. Any changes in the wording of the ad requires that it be resubmitted for approval by the EEO/AA Office. From this step the department receives CV's, interviews, and decides on the successful applicant.
- Before offering a position a sanction check and security background check must be submitted and clearance received.
- Notify the EEO/AA Office of the successful candidates name and a brief description of the recruitment process if there was no formal advertisement, letters sent, etc. All applicants CV's are to be forwarded to the EEO/AA Office. (This is usually done in letter or memo form and is submitted with a list of the applicant and their CV's)
