Refractive Surgeon
The Department of Ophthalmology of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking a candidate for a full or part-time refractive surgery faculty position. The physician should have completed an ACGME accredited residency in ophthalmology and be a board certified/eligible ophthalmologist with at least a one-year fellowship in Cornea/External Disease and Refractive Surgery. He or she should have demonstrated excellent clinical and surgical abilities, and outstanding interpersonal skills. The candidate will establish the department's refractive surgery service to complement our busy, diverse group practice where teamwork, teaching, and superior patient care are valued. Candidates with an interest in research are preferred, but not required. Resident and medical student education is expected. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with credentials and experience. Applicants must possess a Texas medical license or become licensed in Texas and meet all criteria for faculty appointments and credentialing by the faculty practice plan. Salary is competitive and there is a generous benefit package and incentive plan.
