Lions Low Vision Center of Texas
The newly constructed Lions Low Vision Center of Texas, located at 8403 Floyd Curl Drive, San Antonio, Texas [map], is an interdisciplinary center for low vision evaluation, resources and rehabilitation. The Center is a community partnership of the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine/Department of Ophthalmology, The School of Allied Health Sciences/Department of Occupational Therapy, and the Lions Clubs International. Individuals whose vision cannot be corrected by traditional means, such as eye glasses or surgery, may benefit from services and devices to make the most of their vision.

Services Provided:
Low Vision Evaluation - An optometrist specializing in low vision assesses the level of functional vision. The goal is to determine how to use remaining vision effectively to perform necessary or desired tasks with the help of low vision devices.
Dynavision Rehabilitation - The Dynavision is a device to help rehabilitate patients with visual and motor problems. The Dynavision can help improve scanning strategies, eye/hand coordination and reaction time, visual attention, and visual processing.
Activities of Daily Living - Occupational therapists specializing in low vision collaborate with the optometrist to evaluate a person's level of function in every day activities. Areas of evaluation and treatment include but are not limited to : reading, writing, diabetes self-management, cooking, home management and safety.

Patients or their eye doctors can call Monday - Fridays from 8:00AM to 4:30 PM for appointments.
