Employee of the Quarter
Facilities Management has a very active Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year program aimed to recognize those special individuals that go above and beyond what is expected of them. They represent the very best of the Health Science Center.
At the recent Facilities Management Christmas party held on December 21, Raymond Martin, Assistant Vice President for Facilities, presented the awards for Employee of the Quarter for the period of October - December. The selectees were:

With nearly three years of service to Health Science Center, Manuel Rico has proven to be a valuable employee to the University. He were hired as a Maintenance Worker at the Central Energy Plant and his work ethic and job knowledge has led him to quickly reach a position of a Utility Plant Operator Associate. Manuel's ability to perform assigned tasks, address issues that require attention, and demonstrated willingness to go above and beyond have been noticed by his supervisors and peers. His efforts are appreciated, and with this award of Employee of the Quarter, everyone in Facilities would like to say “congratulations for a job well done”.

Johnie Evans, a Senior Carpenter in the Construction Division of Facilities Management, has been an employee with the Health Science Center for eight years. This quarter, Johnie exemplified his leadership skills when he stepped up to manage the Carpentry Shop in his supervisor’s absence while maintaining a high product quality and ensuring that all of the project schedules were met. The production of the Carpentry Shop did not skip a beat while Johnie was at the wheel. As usual, Johnie is always willing to help others and is very well respected as a craftsman, a leader, and a mentor. |
