Facilities Management is proud to introduce its new work request system that will allow departments to request chargeback work electronically. No longer will departments have to fill out and print forms, obtain approval, route them through campus and then send to FM. Now, requests can be created in an online web form, forwarded to the fund approver, and then sent electronically to FM. Through event-based email confirmation, the requestor is apprised of the request's status as it travels through WorkFlow: from the time the request is initiated to the point it arrives at the approver's queue to the eventual assignment of an official work request number. Additionally, requests can be retrieved and reviewed in the requestor's personal “Dashboard” for future reference.

We have written a user guide that explains this simple, straightforward process. It includes a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help new users. WorkFlow can be accessed by visiting our website here.

Although we have only released the form to request Department Funded Work at this time, we plan to add processes for Moves, Setups, and Building Maintenance in the near future. WorkFlow is available to HSC employees at all campuses including the Harlingen, Laredo, and Edinburg sites. The only requirements are:

  • UTHSCSA login
  • Internet Explorer browser version 5.0 or better
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader version 8.0 or better
