Facilities Management has contracted with Western States Fire Protection Co. to extend the fire sprinkler system in the Medical School. The project is scheduled to start May 26, 2008 in the mechanical penthouse and on the 7th floor and work down to each level, with project completion scheduled for December 2008. The majority of the work will be in the corridors and the working hours will be from 5:00 pm to 6:00 am Monday thru Thursday.

In most cases, daily activity in the labs and offices should not be disrupted. All work will be done at night and back to normal operations by the morning. In those cases where we do need to get into offices or labs, Facilities Management will schedule this activity with the occupants. Facilities Management will be working closely with EH&S and the building occupants to keep everyone informed on the progress of this much needed improvement.
