EMPLOYEES OF THE QUARTER

Although Facilities Management has many dedicated hardworking employees, the following employees were selected as FM Employees of the Quarter for the Fourth Quarter of 2008. They represent the very best of the HSC. We are fortunate and grateful to have employees such as these.

Eddie Martinez began working for Facilities back in 1979 after receiving his Associates degree in Architecture from St. Phillip’s College. Eddie has developed into a talented designer and has worked on a variety of important projects including a large lab renovation for the Department of Surgery and an office renovation for the Medical School Dean. Eddie works part time at QVC, the Home Shopping Network; he loves cars and is into computers. Eddie is a dependable hard working designer and deserves the employee of the quarter award. Thanks for your service to the Health Science Center!

Giorgios Kelenis joined Facilities Management in November 2000 as a purchasing Buyer III. Through his hard work and dedication he has risen to the position of Senior Procurement Officer. Giorgios has seen many changes in Purchasing and Facilities Management since his arrival here. One of the largest challenges was the conversion to PeopleSoft. He was a champion of change and helped make sure the transition went smoothly. Giorgios has a great “can-do” attitude and always does his best to ensure items are purchased promptly and purchasing rules are strictly followed. We are very fortunate to have him as part of the Facilities Management team.
