UTHSCSA IM Client Support Services
Your UTHSCSA Domain Username:
To access many of the systems at UTHSCSA (including the UTHSCSA network domain, your email account, the inside.usthscsa.edu portal, etc.), you will need your UTHSCSA Username. Your Username will begin with your last name and may end with your initial(s) and a number. Please contact the Helpdesk if you need assistance with your UTHSCSA Username.
Your UTHSCSA Domain Password:
Your UTHSCSA domain account has a temporary password that you MUST change before you can use it to access UTHSCSA systems. The temporary password is TempMMDD, where [MMDD] is the month and day of your birthday. For example, if your birthday is July 4, your temporary password would be Temp0704.
To change your password, go to https://pwr.uthscsa.edu. Log into the UTHSCSA self-service password reset system with your UTHSCSA Username and your temporary password.
Follow the instructions to choose a new, private password. This will be your password for the next 60 days.
After you’ve selected a password, return to this “Main” screen (above) and select “Answer personal questions.” Answer at least 8 of the security questions. If your password should ever become forgotten or expired, you will be able to return to this website, answer at least 3 of your questions correctly and reset your own password – day or night.
Your UTHSCSA Email Account:
You have been assigned a UTHSCSA email account. Your email address is <your Username>@uthscsa.edu (for example, email@example.com).
Once you have changed your temporary password, you can access your email account on the web at https://owa.uthscsa.edu, or you can configure an email client (such as Outlook or Entourage) to access your email account. You are required to read the statement of ethics on the use of UTHSCSA computing resources that will be sent to your email account. Per policy, all UTHSCSA email must be delivered to this account; the account cannot be forwarded to an alternate email address.
