Library Holdings
The MHCOE plans to increase the cultural competence resources available through the MHCOE during the funding period. The MHCOE also plans to support medical education and clinical services by providing electronic and paper information resources to faculty and students.
The MHCOE has purchased paper and electronic journals and books for the UTHSCSA library. MHCOE has begun to develop and maintain quarterly library and Internet reviews for cultural competence materials to be used by students and faculty. . . . . Hispanic Americans and Health © UTHSCSA Library 8/05 (ll) http://www.library.uthscsa.edu/ The 2005 issue of the Hispanic Americans and Health bibliography series includes references to over 650 articles culled from searches of MEDLINE, CINAHL (nursing and allied health), and PsycINFO. The bibliography includes articles added to the databases from approximately August 2004 through July 2005. The bibliography is divided into broad subject areas. Each article is placed in only one category. The categories are as follows: Access to Health Care; Alcohol, Tobacco and Substance Use; Alternative Therapies; Cancer; Child and Adolescent Health; Dental Health; Diabetes; Diet, Nutrition, and Obesity; Education; Ethnic and Cultural Issues; Genetics; Heart Disease, Hypertension, and Stroke; HIV/AIDS/ Sexually Transmitted Diseases; Interpersonal Relationships/Sexuality; Mental Health; Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Neonatal Care; Senior Health; Statistics; Tests and Instruments; Violence and Domestic Violence; Vision Disorders; Women's Health; and Other.
