OHR 2008-002 - September 2007 Work & Family Life Employee Newsletter
There is an age-old belief that working parents don’t make very good employees because they are always distracted by their home responsibilities.
Inside this first Work & Family Life edition of the new fiscal year is a brief but persuasive article refuting such notions. The article is entitled “Study finds parents make better managers” makes a number of key points including “raising a family helps develop skills such as negotiating, compromising, conflict resolution and multitasking, which are important traits of successful managers.” I think you will find the article interesting.
There are also a number of other articles of interest in the September edition of Work & Family Life. You may reference the issue by clicking on: http://www.uthscsa.edu/hr/worklife/09_2007.pdf
