OHR 2008-005 - Check Your Information
The Health Science Center implemented a new administrative software system known as PeopleSoft Human Capital Management 8.9 on July 5, 2007. A number of changes occurred and one of the most important is the implementation of Employee Self Service (ESS).
ESS permits you to go to the secured part of the Health Science Center’s home page (called “inside.uthscsa” or “the portal”) to view insurance coverages and paycheck information and to make changes to home contact information. As the first month of the new fiscal year ends, please take a few moments to do the following:
- Check your paycheck statement in ESS for the October 1, 2007, payday. Be certain that your deductions and other information are correct. If anything seems unusual, please contact the Office of Payroll Services at 567-6315.
- While you are in ESS, please check your group insurance coverages. It is important that everything is as you intended it to be at the close of Annual Enrollment in July. The coverages listed are what you are paying for, so please be certain that everything is correct. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Human Resources at 567-2600 or send an email to benefits@uthscsa.edu
- A number of you have been using the ESS to change your home address and other contact information. It is critically important that the Health Science Center has a way to mail information to you, including the W-2 Form you need to file your income tax return next year. Therefore, while visiting ESS, please take a moment to check that your home contact information is current and correct. If it is not correct, please update it while you are on the site. Please note: if you live in an apartment, the apartment number should be entered by itself on address line 1 and your street address on line 2. If you do not have an apartment, enter your address on line 1.
Your cooperation in checking these three areas for accuracy will be most appreciated by your Offices of Payroll Services and Human Resources and will help us serve you better. I would like to thank each of you for your patience and understanding as our Offices continue to work through the many issues related to implementation of HCM.
