OHR 2008-007 - Authorized Retirement Vendors to Be On Campus Nov. 8
The University of Texas System has authorized six retirement vendors to provide products and services to employees. These vendors include:
- AIG VALIC
- Fidelity Investments
- ING
- Lincoln Life
- MetLife Resources
- TIAA-CREF
These vendors will be available from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8th, in Room 114 of the Academic Administration Building (AAB).
ORP GRANDFATHERED COMPANY
If you were recently notified by the U.T. System Office of Employee Benefits that you must select a new Optional Retirement Program (ORP) company because your ORP company is no longer on the approved list, you should take advantage of this opportunity to visit with these company representatives. As a grandfathered participant, remember that you must designate your selection no later than December 10, 2007.
This is a mandatory change of companies for grandfathered ORP participants. You MUST change providers if you are currently doing business with a grandfathered company and received a letter from U.T. System.UTSAVER TAX SHELTERED ANNUITY (TSA)
If you were recently notified by the U.T. System Office of Employee Benefits that you must select a new UTSaver Tax Sheltered Annuity program (TSA) company because your TSA company is no longer on the approved list, you should also take advantage of this opportunity to visit these company representatives. As a grandfathered participant, remember that you must designate your selection no later than December 10, 2007. If you fail to do so, your monthly TSA contributions will be ceased.
If you are an employee of the Health Science Center and do not currently have a UTSaver Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA), we encourage you to visit these company representatives on November 8 and consider starting a UTSaver TSA. The UTSaver TSA is a voluntary, employer sponsored retirement savings program intended to permit employees to systematically save additional amounts for retirement on a tax deferred basis.
