Prostate cancer detection and prevention — including use of PSA testing — topic of free CTRC public lecture

SAN ANTONIO (September 10, 2012) – Men and their loved ones who have questions about use of PSA testing in the diagnosis of prostate cancer can hear the latest information at the Cancer Therapy & Research Center’s free public lecture Thursday night.

Ian M. Thompson Jr., M.D., director of the CTRC and leader of numerous prostate cancer studies, will talk about recommendations in PSA testing, prostate cancer treatment and prevention.

The lecture, which is open to the public and has a question-and-answer session, will be Thursday, Sept. 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the fourth floor of the CTRC’s Grossman Building, 7979 Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio.
