Registration extended for human anatomy summer workshop
Contact: Will Sansom, 210-567-2579 SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 29, 2013) — March 31 is the deadline for college and other preprofessional students to apply to a human anatomy summer workshop offered in the School of Medicine at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio. The course is for any student interested in pursuing a degree in a health profession. Participants will gain an introduction to all aspects of human anatomy with hands-on experience. The course will run 80 hours over four weeks, June 3-28, and include work with human cadavers donated to health science education. The registration fee of $4,000 covers all lab and lecture costs (such as scrubs, masks and safety glasses), instruction by skilled anatomists, lecture materials and a personal copy of an anatomical atlas. Students must pay for required immunizations, parking on campus and housing in San Antonio. Because of limited enrollment, early application is recommended. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee. To inquire about eligibility, send an e-mail to HumanAnatomyWksp@uthscsa.edu. The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, one of the country’s leading health sciences universities, ranks in the top 3 percent of all institutions worldwide receiving National Institutes of Health funding. The university’s schools of medicine, nursing, dentistry, health professions and graduate biomedical sciences have produced approximately 28,000 graduates. The $736 million operating budget supports eight campuses in San Antonio, Laredo, Harlingen and Edinburg. For more information on the many ways “We make lives better®,” visit www.uthscsa.edu.
