Residents invited to free Senior Moments of Aging program on Saturday, March 23, in Laredo

SAN ANTONIO (March 1, 2013) — Community members are invited to a free Senior Moments of Aging program on Saturday, March 23, at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio’s Regional Campus in Laredo.

As part of the Stay Healthier Longer Series, the program will cover aging-related topics such as loneliness, depression, forgetfulness, chronic pain, tremors and lightheadedness.

Guest speaker will be Robert L. Jimenez, M.D., FAPA, clinical professor of psychiatry at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio.

The program runs from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 23, in the D.D. Hachar Auditorium on the Regional Campus, 1937 E. Bustamante. From 8 to 10 a.m. demonstrations will reveal tips on healthy living. The presentation from Dr. Jimenez is set for 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.

For those in the medical, nursing and social work fields, this program is approved for continuing education credit. Cost for CME or CNE is $30. The activity is approved for 1 medical credit, 1.5 nursing credits, and 1.5 social work credits.
