MEDIA ADVISORY (8-2-00)WHAT:The Third Annual Pre-Med Workshop for Rio Grande Valley high school and college students. The course sponsor is the Med/Ed program, a health-science career exploration program of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSC). WHO:100 Med/Ed students in grades 9-12, and 50 college students from The University of Texas-Pan American and U. T. Brownsville WHEN:Thursday, Aug. 3; registration at 8:30 a.m.; program from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. WHERE:The McAllen Country Club, 500 Wichita NOTES:Each student will receive a pre-med handbook containing the steps required to enter a medical school. The handbook is geared for high school and college students.
