Daniel Wood, M.P.A.S., P.A.-C., assistant professor in the physician assistant program, began working in the School of Allied Health Sciences in September 2003. He will become a full-time faculty member at the beginning of August.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants (AFPPA), the Society for Physician Assistants in Pediatrics (SPAP) and the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.
Wood currently serves as the continuing medical education chairperson for the AFPPA and as an officer for the SPAP. He is also a peer reviewer for the ADVANCE for Physician Assistants magazine.
He also works as a family practice physician assistant at the El Centro Del Barrio and Family Physicians clinic.
Wood received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Akron, Ohio, and a bachelor science degree in medical science from Alderson Broaddus College, Philippi, W.Va. He also completed the physician assistant program at Alderson Broaddus College. He received a master of physician assistant studies degree from the University of Nebraska, Omaha.
