Karl Keiser, D.D.S., M.S., associate professor and director of the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics, recently received several national awards including the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Charles Craig Teaching Award and the Edward M. Osetek Educator Award.
The Omicron Kappa Upsilon Charles Craig Teaching Award recognizes young dental educators who have demonstrated new and innovative teaching techniques in teaching the art, science and literature of dentistry. The award also recognizes individuals who have introduced creative methods that not only educate students, but also motivate them to be life-long learners and dental educators. He was recognized at the annual meeting of the Supreme Chapter of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society in Seattle.
The Edward M. Osetek Educator Award is presented to a full-time educator, with less than six years teaching experience, who has gained the esteem and respect of students and faculty associates. He was recognized at the 2004 Annual Session of the American Association of Endodontists in Anaheim, Calif.
Dr. Keiser received his doctor of dental science from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. Following 12 years in private practice, he then received a a certificate in the specialty of endodontics from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and a master of science in Oral Biology from the Horace Rackham School of Graduate Studies at the University of Michigan.
