Otto is elected as Health Science Center’s UT System representative

Recently an election was held across campus to elect a Health Science Center representative to serve on The University of Texas System Insurance Advisory Committee for a two year period. The charge of this committee is to serve in an advisory capacity to the UT System Office of Employee Group Insurance (EGI) regarding matters of group insurance and benefits for active UT employees and retirees.

Pamela M. Otto, M.D., associate professor in radiology, director of Breast Imaging and Intervention and director of University Hospital’s department of radiology, has been elected to serve on this committee. She will serve as the Health Science Center’s representative from Sept. 1, 2004 through Aug. 31, 2006.



Association of Retirees and Associates meeting is Oct. 27

The Association of Retirees and Associates is having a meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27 in Room 1.102 in the School of Allied Health. Marilyn Harrington, Ph.D., dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences, will be the guest speaker at the meeting.




Faculty, staff invited to lectern orientation

New faculty and staff are invited to attend “Orientation to Multimedia Lecterns.” Steele Camp, director of teaching support services, will demonstrate how to use the multimedia consoles available in all lecture halls. The consoles feature DVD and VHS functions, console computers, Internet connections and laptop displays. This equipment has created a consistent, multimedia environment that is reliable, easy to use and provides a creative learning environment. For more information on the course, call (210) 567-2244.

HSC employee's daughter cast in Frankenstein

Andrea 'Andie' Miller, 12-year-old daughter of Alan Miller, student services, will appear in the play "Frankenstein," Oct. 14-31 in the Jump Start Theater. Andrea is a student at Tejeda Middle School. For more information on the play visit: www.therenaissanceguild.org
