The 2005 Education Research Methods (ERM) course, sponsored by the Education Research and Development of Academic Informatics Services, begins Jan. 26.
The goal of the course is to increase awareness of educational research and the processes involved with this form of research. The course provides an opportunity in which faculty and staff can share experiences regarding educational research as well as learn new information that might assist future projects.
Participants who are interested in educational research will have an opportunity to take part in an independent research project during the ERM Course. The monthly workshops that are provided during this year long course will help the participants work through some of the obstacles that are encountered when conducting educational research.
Participants who are interested in managing a research project will be responsible for meeting with course directors outside of the scheduled courses. In order to guarantee that interested participants receive the necessary assistance during the independent research project, only 20 individuals will be able to register for the independent research project component of the ERM course.
Faculty and staff members who cannot commit the time necessary for the development of an independent research project are welcomed to attend any lectures throughout the year.
ERM is conducted on the last Wednesday of each month from 4 to 6 p.m. The course begins Jan. 26 and continues through Dec. 15, 2005.
