The division of educational research and development (ERD) announces the first workshop of the Educational Research Methods Series.
The first workshop “Overview of Educational Research Design” presented by John Littlefield, Ph.D., director of academic informatics services, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 in Room 4.484T in the Dental School.
This introductory workshop will describe three guidelines for identifying problem areas when reading a research report: research design, analysis and results/conclusion. During a small group exercise, participants will critique a research report using the three guidelines.
This workshop is the first of 12 monthly sessions in the ERM course dealing with issues related specifically to educational research. The ERM course was designed to address the needs of faculty who have expressed an interest in learning more about educational research and procedures required to complete this endeavor.
Faculty that attend all 12 ERM sessions will receive a letter of completion sent to your department chair and a course completion certificate.
The registration deadline for the course is Jan. 21. For questions about ERM call Dr. David Henzi at (210) 567-2290 or send an e-mail to henzi@uthscsa.edu. To register for the course click on the link below: erdweb.uthscsa.edu/register/prog.asp?Prog=13
