The Department of Surgery is pleased to announce the Employee of the Month for January. This program is designed to recognize an individual who demonstrates exceptional behaviors such as dependability, initiative, service beyond that required of current position, trust-worthiness, congeniality, and respect.

Recipients of the award will receive a $100 gift certificate to North Star Mall, will have their picture displayed for a month, and their name permanently displayed on a plaque outside the Surgery main office. Winners of the Employee of the Month Award for the academic year will be eligible for the Employee of the Year Award.

January’s Employee of the Month recipient is Cynthia Garza, administrative assistant I in accounting.

“Cynthia has been instrumental in keeping the accounting division functioning during a period of transition and change,” said Chris Moryle of the transplant division. “Her knowledge of the Health Science Center accounting process has been a key element in keeping consistency in a department that is continuously changing.” Moryle nominated Garza.
