Employee forms foundationMarilyn Cannefax, administrative assistant in the division of hematology, hopes to bring central nervous system (CNS) vasculitis out of obscurity and to the forefront of public awareness.
Cannefax and two other former Health Science Center employees have set up the CNS Vasculitis Foundation in attempts to eventually help provide funding for research and furnish information and support to patients, families, caregivers, the medical community and the general public.
With little to no research at this time and resources for patients scarce, CNS vasculitis is the rarest form of vasculitis. It is a debilitating disorder which results in cognitive problems, fatigue, seizures and many other problems.
For more information on the disease and the foundation, send an e-mail to Cannefax at
