Students’ artwork decorates Family Health Center

The grand re-opening ceremony of the Family Health Center in the University Health Center will take place on Mar. 8, and will be decorated with intricate artwork created by students from seven San Antonio schools.

At least 65 pieces of art, designed by students from Brauchle Elementary, Cedar Creek Elementary, St. Pius Catholic School, Northeast San Antonio School of Art, Taft High School and St. Mary’s University will be permanently displayed as part of the newly redecorated family health center. The grand re-opening ceremony and art exhibit will be from 6 – 8 p.m. and will include a brief program presented by representatives from the University Health System and the Health Science Center.

Carlos Roberto Jaén, M.D., Ph.D., professor and chair of the department of family and community medicine, will describe the clinic and the recent changes and improvements. Certificates will also be given to the artists.

Refreshments will be served. Attendance is by invitation only.
