If you like science and the game show Jeopardy!, then the Health Science Center has a real treat for you.
The Health Science Center will host the sixth annual Brain Bowl at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, in room 209L of the Medical School building. The public is invited. The Brain Bowl is presented by the Center for Biomedical Neuroscience at the Health Science Center.
Teams of undergraduates from several Texas universities will compete in a Jeopardy!-style neuroscience quiz game for cash prizes and the right to possess the Brain Bowl trophy for a year. The 2005 competitors are from Baylor University, Southwestern University and Trinity University. Baylor is the reigning champion.
Faculty, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, all members of the Center for Biomedical Neuroscience, are organizing the quiz-show competition. David Morilak, Ph.D., associate professor of pharmacology at the Health Science Center, is the master of ceremonies.
This event is supported by Chemicon, the department of pharmacology at the Health Science Center, VWR and Fisher Scientific.
