Health Science Center faculty members, residents and fellows are invited to apply for the Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) degree program. Classes begin on Aug. 29 and applications are now being accepted.
The MSCI program, established in 2000, is an interdisciplinary program created to train health care professionals in the conduct of clinical investigation and involves faculty of all five schools at the Health Science Center. The MSCI program seeks to help forge the bridge from basic research to human studies. All trainees will become proficient in the preparation of clinical research protocols, informed consent documents, grant proposals and preliminary research manuscripts. The MSCI Program is funded by a Clinical Research Curriculum Award from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute awarded the UTHSCSA and its General Clinical Research Center.
The goal of the program is to prepare candidates who can design and implement all phases of patient-oriented clinical research and effectively lead interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research teams.
The application deadline is June 1. For more information, call (210) 567-4631 or send an e-mail to Dr. Michael Lichtenstein at
