The Health Science Center proudly welcomes Brett Morris as new assistant vice president for human resources. He succeeds Tony Ramirez, who retired from the position in March. Ramirez’s more than 25 years of service to the institution were honored at a well-attended reception on March 30.
Morris has 20 years of experience in higher education human resource management with The University of Texas System, serving the past 10 years as manager of benefits and compensation, assistant director of benefits and compensation and associate director of human resources at the System.
Morris received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Public Administration degree from Angelo State University and holds a certification from the International Personnel Management Association.
“Mr. Morris brings a wealth of human resource management and leadership experience to his new role at the Health Science Center,” said Steve Lynch, executive vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer. “He is a strong advocate for employee and customer services, and has been an innovator in the development and implementation of new employee and retiree service initiatives System wide.”
Morris will begin his new position at the Health Science Center on May 1.
