Dedicated employees are an asset to the Health Science Center and to recognize these outstanding individuals, the department of facilities management selects their most valuable employees three times a year to be recognized as the Employee of the Quarter.
This quarter, Jose Nuñez, building attendant III, and Kirk Digges, facilities control technician III, continuously represented exceptional performance and each received the Employee of the Quarter award.
Nuñez joined the Health Science Center in 1985 as a building attendant I but his dedicated performance has promoted him to become a building attendant III. He is a dependable, loyal, efficient and hard-working employee with outstanding attendance and an asset to the custodial services division.
“We are very proud and fortunate to have him as part of our team,” said Robert Ross, executive housekeeper. “He highly deserves to be recognized as an Employee of the Quarter.”

Digges is another valuable employee to the utilities division and electronics shop that has not been overlooked. With overwhelming responsibilities and duties, Digges is always prepared to accept additional assignments to execute the mission of his division. He takes his own initiative to find alternate solutions to problems and is able to work well independently or with a team.
“Kirk excels as an electronics technician and computer programmer,” said Chris Miller, associate director of facilities management. “He is the type of employee who is considered to be a tremendous asset to the facilities management department.”
Each of these individuals receives a certificate of appreciation and a plaque explaining their excellence that will be displayed in the facilities management department until next quarter. Nuñez and Digges will also be added to the Facilities Management Wall of Fame – a wall that recognizes all Employees of the Quarter for the past 13 years.
