The Health Science Centers annual employee benefits Open Enrollment period began July 1 and will end July 31. Employees may be required to update their insurance plans, even if they want to keep the plans the same. Others may need to provide evidence of insurability (EOI) for adding themselves or dependents to certain coverage plans. The EOI guide is available on the annual enrollment Web site:
www.uthscsa.edu/hr/ben/ae2005.htm. The deadline to return completed EOI forms is July 31.
However, not all employees are required to complete forms or make changes to their insurance plans. Here are some frequently asked questions.
What should I do during Open Enrollment? Read e-mails concerning Open Enrollment. The e-mails will provide all necessary information.
If you want to keep your insurance coverage exactly the same, no action is necessary unless you are an employee enrolled in the UT FLEX medical reimbursement account and/or day-care accounts. These employees must re-enroll during each Open Enrollment period.
Will insurance representatives be able to advise me?Two benefits fairs are scheduled during Open Enrollment and will be held in the Health Science Center auditorium foyer. All insurance representatives will be present. A representative from the U.T. System Employee Group Insurance will make presentations each day.
