Congratulations to Maria Bauer, administrative assistant in the surgical oncology division, for receiving the surgery department’s June Employee of the Month Award. For the past five years, Bauer has exemplified dependability, initiative, trustworthiness, congeniality and respect, and has continuously represented the department in the best way possible.

As the recipient of this award, Bauer will receive a $100 Simon Gift Card that can be used anywhere VISA is accepted, and she will be recognized at the Surgery Administration Meeting at Oak Hills Country Club. Winners of the Employee of the Month Award for the academic year are also eligible for the Employee of the Year Award, which includes a vacation at an exquisite resort.

“Maria has performed a multitude of tasks with skill and excellence for several years,” said one individual who nominated Bauer. “She has played an integral role in the successful recruitment of new faculty to the division and serves a vital role for the faculty, research nurses and research technicians. Her work ethic is exemplary.”

While Bauer was the recipient of the award, eight other outstanding individuals were nominated, as well:
