The Special Events Council (SEC) will hold its annual State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) fundraiser, the Acadiana Luncheon, Sept. 22-23 at the Texas Research Park and central campus.
The central campus luncheon will take place Friday, Sept. 23 between Garage B and the Dental School, and this year Texas Research Park employees can expect a more convenient way to participate.
“In the past, Texas Research Park employees had to come to central campus for their meals,” said Mary Yanes, SEC chair. “This year, we hope to make it more convenient and save them time by taking meals to them.” The luncheon at the Texas Research Park will be held Sept. 22.
Both luncheons will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased through each department’s SECC coordinator, Aug. 30 – Sept. 16.
The menu includes a choice of fried catfish or country fried steak with gravy; red beans and rice, coleslaw, dinner rolls, peach cobbler and beverages from Coca-Cola. Profits will be donated to the SECC. Last year, more than $700 was raised from the luncheon.
