The 12th Annual Arthur H. Briggs Lectureship, sponsored by the department of pharmacology, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in the Pestana Lecture Hall (3.104A). G. Stanley McKnight, Ph.D., professor of pharmacology at the University of Washington, Seattle, will be the featured speaker and will present
Protein Kinase A is a gatekeeper for germ cell maturation. Dr. McKnight received his Ph.D. degree in pharmacology in 1976 from Stanford University Medical School.
A wine and cheese reception will follow the lecture in the Pestana Hall foyer. All are invited to attend.
The Briggs Lectureship is named for Arthur H. Briggs, M.D., a Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine graduate who became chair of the department of pharmacology at the Health Science Center in 1968. Dr. Briggs remained chair until 1993.
