Congratulations to Sandra Hairston, administrative secretary in the division of thoracic surgery, for receiving the surgery department’s August Employee of the Month Award. Committed and determined, Hairston is always willing to go the extra mile.
“Sandy is an exemplary employee,” said an individual who nominated her. “I can always count on Sandy to get the job done in an expedient and professional manner. Her attention to detail makes her an invaluable employee when it comes to completing her tasks and coordinating special visits from outside faculty members who are conducting presentations or interviews with the division.”
As the recipient of this award, Hairston will receive a $100 Simon Gift Card that can be used anywhere VISA is accepted, and she will be recognized at the Surgery Administration Meeting at Oak Hills Country Club. Winners of the Employee of the Month Award for the academic year are also eligible for the Employee of the Year Award, which includes a vacation at an exquisite resort.
