The acute nursing care and nursing continuing education departments at Health Science Center will host a fall dinner conference from 5:30 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in Room 1.463 in the School of Nursing building.

Beth Ulrich, Ed.D., R.N., C.H.E., regional vice president and editor of NurseWeek Publishing, will be the featured speaker. She will discuss the most recent NurseWeek AONE Survey of more than 7,000 nurses addressing the nursing workforce shortage. She will discuss the question “what does the data reveal nationally and locally in Texas?” The evening provides attendees the opportunity to network and discuss the impact of the nursing shortage on patient care, quality outcome, retention and recruitment issues. Attendees also will have the opportunity to discuss interventions to support, retain and promote those in the profession.

For more information, call ext, 7-5850 or visit the UTHSC’s continuing education Web site at nursing.uthscsa.edu/ce.shtml.
