Robert S. Schenken, M.D., professor and chairman of obstetrics and gynecology at the Health Science Center, will preside over the 61st Annual Meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Oct. 15-19 in Montreal, Quebec. The meeting is combined with the 51st Annual Meeting of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society.
Dr. Schenken, who occupies the Humana Foundation Distinguished Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology, is the first Health Science Center faculty member to serve as president of the ASRM. Craig Witz, M.D., associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology, is this year’s general program chair.
The ASRM is the nation’s largest society of physicians who specialize in fertility, sterility, menopause and other issues that surround reproduction. Members help shape the nation’s legislative agenda on important issues such as teenage pregnancy by advising elected officials at all levels.
Dr. Schenken has been quoted many times in the national media during his year as president.
