President Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D., recently welcomed the Honorable Jim Pitts, Texas State Representative and chair of the House Committee on Appropriations, to the Health Science Center. Rep. Pitts met with Dr. Cigarroa to learn about the numerous achievements of our institution and the future plans that will require legislative funding.

Rep. Pitts was able to tour the Health Science Center’s state-of-the-art Clinical Skills Labs and meet with some of the university’s most distinguished students.

Dr. Cigarroa presented Rep. Pitts with a Health Science Center white lab coat and named him an honorary faculty member of the Health Science Center.
